Terms of Service

By accessing or using the Proofd platform (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.

These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Proofd. Your continued use of the Service following any updates to these Terms constitutes acceptance of the revised version.

Proofd is a marketplace platform that connects homeowners with verified local tradespeople. The platform allows homeowners to post jobs, browse completed project portfolios, receive quotes, and communicate with trades.

Proofd does not employ tradespeople or act as a contractor. We facilitate introductions and provide tools to support the hiring process. We are not responsible for the quality, safety, or legality of work carried out by tradespeople listed on the platform.

To use certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete registration information
• Maintain the security of your password and not share it with others
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account
• Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that have been inactive for an extended period.

Tradespeople may create profiles on Proofd to showcase their work, receive leads, and communicate with homeowners. By submitting content to Proofd, including project photos, descriptions, and business information, you grant Proofd a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display that content on the platform.

You are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of any content you submit. You must not:

• Post false or misleading information about your qualifications, experience, or completed projects
• Claim verification badges or credentials you have not legitimately earned
• Impersonate another business or individual
• Upload content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights

Homeowners may post job requests on Proofd to receive quotes from tradespeople. By submitting a job post, you confirm that:

• The information provided is accurate and relates to a genuine requirement
• You have the authority to commission the work described
• You understand that submitting a job post does not guarantee receiving quotes or responses

Proofd may remove job posts that appear fraudulent, incomplete, or in violation of these Terms.

Proofd provides tools for tradespeople to send quotes and for homeowners to review and accept or decline them. The acceptance of a quote on the platform does not constitute a legally binding contract between a homeowner and a trade — it signals intent to proceed. Parties are responsible for agreeing their own formal contracts independently.

All communication conducted through Proofd's messaging system must be professional and lawful. Proofd reserves the right to review messages in order to maintain platform safety and quality.

Leads purchased or received through the platform are non-refundable once delivered, unless there is a demonstrated technical fault on Proofd's part.

Proofd offers optional identity, business, and insurance verification for tradespeople. Verification badges indicate that submitted documentation has been reviewed by our team at the time of submission. Proofd does not guarantee the ongoing accuracy of verified information and is not liable for changes in a tradesperson's status after verification.

Reviews and ratings displayed on the platform are submitted by users and reflect their personal experiences. Proofd does not endorse or verify the content of individual reviews beyond confirming that reviewers are registered platform users.

Proofd offers free and paid subscription tiers for tradespeople. By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to the applicable pricing and billing terms displayed at the time of purchase.

• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date
• Fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law
• Proofd may change pricing with reasonable notice to existing subscribers

All payments are processed securely through our payment provider. Proofd does not store card details directly.

You agree not to use the platform to:

• Engage in fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading activity
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
• Scrape, copy, or redistribute platform data without permission
• Circumvent platform fees by taking transactions off-platform after initial contact
• Upload malware, viruses, or otherwise harmful code
• Violate any applicable law or regulation
• Post spam, unsolicited communications, or irrelevant content

Violations of this section may result in immediate account suspension and, where appropriate, referral to relevant authorities.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Proofd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

Proofd's total liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the total fees you have paid to Proofd in the twelve months prior to the claim.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the platform and accept no liability for downtime, data loss, or third-party service failures outside our reasonable control.

You may close your account at any time by contacting us or using the account settings. Proofd reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate your access to the Service if you breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or where we are required to do so by law.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Content you have submitted may be retained for legal, regulatory, or safety purposes in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the law, our services, or our business practices. When we make material changes, we will notify registered users by email or by displaying a notice on the platform.

The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
